Send Something Beautiful
A little while ago I was asked to contribute 2 paper craft projects to a book & it was such a delight to get a copy in the post a couple of weeks ago. 'Send Something Beautiful' by Emily Hogarth is a lovely collection of paper cutting projects you can complete yourself, then send them in the post to bring joy to someone else.
It was great fun creating my projects, a paper cut card and a paper leaf garland, inspired by my work, but with a bit more relaxed simplicity, so anyone can create them, even if they've never cut paper before.
The book is filled with a lovely collection of projects by amazing artists and I was over the moon to be included & see my paper cut cards on the cover! Check it out here... http://www.amazon.com/Send-Something-Beautiful-collectible-keepsakes/dp/1600584470

Grandma's 90th
It was my lovely Grandma's 90th Birthday at the end of July, so I made her a Birthday card, it was supposed to be 3 layers but I ran out of time :( so the final card was made of 2 layers, 1: Agapanthus & Atible, Blue & Pink and 2: Bilberry & leafage, Orange & Green. We had a really lovely family day with good food & laughter.

Birthday Bicycle
It was myself & my dad's birthday at the end of June, he loves cycling on the heath in the sunshine when he can find some time, so I made him a pop up card of a bike on the heath! It was great fun to make.
Veronica & Alexander's Wedding Papercut
I was commissioned to create another special and bespoke version of my Floral
Wreath Papercuts. As a wedding gift for Veronica & Alexander,
who's weddingg was in July. The design was inspired by the flowers and folliage of moorland and wildland, including Bilberry, Sorrel, Yarrow, Barren Strawberry, Primrose & Clover. It was a complete joy to make, as british wildflowers and folliage is
some of my favourtite material to draw inspiration from. The papercut
was also larger than normal, on an A3 size, which meant I could fit in
more imagery, (which for any fellow paper crafters out there will know
the larger the image the easier to cut) and I really enjoyed creating
uniformed lettering too.
I hope Veronica & Alexander love it & it brings joy in their married life together. Here are some images...

Rob & Sarah's Wedding Papercut
I was commissioned to create a special and bespoke version of my Floral Wreath Papercuts. As a wedding gift for the lovely Rob & Sarah, who's wedding was last weekend. The design was inspired by the flowers and colours that featured in their wedding, and included Astrantia, Clematis, Nigella/Love in the Mist, Veronica & Peppergrass.
It's always a joy to create something new and bespoke, and for such a lovely occassion. I hope Rob & Sarah like it & I wish them all things wonderful in their life together. Here are some images...
You can see the other Floral Wreath Papercuts I have ready-designed in my shop here.

Spring has Sprung
Today is the Spring Equinox, marking the start of Spring! We've already had a bit of beautiful sunshine (I even grew a few freckles), not to mention new buds & flowers growing, morning & afternoon birdsong and the skies being so much lighter in the morning & evenings. All these things have brought so much more joy to me, here are some spring-like images from my Instagram lately...

Workspace & Lifespace
I have recently redecorated my workspace & bedroom & it makes me very happy!
When I design, I work from home, my home being my family home, and my workspace being my bedroom (not ideal, but it works for the time being while I find a job & eventually my own home space)
My parents always let us do whatever we wanted to our rooms, paint & write on the walls, from a huge yellow sunshine, to the usual teenage song lyrics & walls covered in photos and blue-tack.
My dad is a super dad handy man and built many different shelving & desk systems I requested over the years and I had an awful purple glittery ceiling too! All fun at the time, but all of which had left the space looking a little dishevelled with layers of paint to cover it all up.
As a trained painter & decorator I decided to just go for it and whilst I am still job hunting and have time on my hands. I also wanted a nice space, with more room, it gets a bit much juggling work and life in one room (I spend half my time at the Mr's to get away from it) and it was a room that was a bit run down and bugged me every time I looked up at the purple glittery ceiling. I wanted something nice for me but also nice if we need to house guests and nice for my parents for when I do move out.
After lots of sanding, filling, cleaning & painting, then a bit of clearing out, organising & rearranging have a new space just in time for Spring! Here are some Instagram images of the space...
